The New Zealand Cricket Team confirmed on Friday (April 12) that run opener Finn Allen and fast bowler Adam Milne were excluded from the tour of Pakistan. Allen injured his back, while Milne injured his leg during training shortly before the team left, reports Cricket Live Score.
NZC said: “The nature of their injury means they will not be able to play in any of the five matches starting next week in Rawalpindi.” “Cricket’s return schedule will be confirmed in the coming weeks.”
New Zealand named wicketkeeper Tom Blundell and all-rounder Zak Foulkes without substitutes. New Zealand have already named their second squad for the series and many first-choice players are currently active in the Indian league. Blundell has not played a T20I for New Zealand in over two years, while Foulkes has been called up for the first time.
Head Coach Gary Stead said: “Tom is an experienced player and a leader on every team he is on with his deck and play. He also brings experience to the occasion by participating in both tours to Pakistan last year. Zak had a great season for Canterbury, finishing top scorer in all three competitions. He has shown great skills with the ball in T20 cricket, especially for the Kings. We also know that he has talent with the bat and it would be a good opportunity for him to be in the team.”
The series, which marks the return of all-rounder Michael Bracewell, will begin on April 18, with the fifth and final T20I scheduled for April 27.
