England all-rounder Ben Stokes dropped a catch which allowed debutant Ishan Kishan to beat his maiden half-century. The drop-catch turned to be a life-saver for Ishan Kishan who stole the show with his terrific batting against England in the 2nd T20I on Sunday in Ahmedabad.
After England scored 164 runs in the first innings, it was India’s debutant who opened the bat and scored 56 runs in 32-balls. The youngster Kishan became the second Indian batter to score a half-century on his T20I debut.
Ishan’s score included five boundaries and four sixes that paved an easy win for the team after it lost to England in the first T20I. This left-hander was lucky enough to score a maiden-50 after he was dropped by Ben Stokes at an individual score of 40.
The drop-catch was observed in the eighth over when Kishan didn’t connect the ball with his bat off Adil Rashid’s bowling. Stokes expected to take an easy-looking catch and provide the team a breakthrough. However, it was so unfortunate for the all-rounder missing the easy one.
