Champions Trophy 2025: India-Pakistan clash in Lahore

India and Pakistan recently concluded a highly anticipated match in New York, setting the stage for their next encounter just around the corner. The arch-rivals are slated to meet again in eight months, this time in the Champions Trophy scheduled for March 2025, unless they face off in the knockouts of the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup in the Caribbean later this month.

The draft schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy has been submitted to the International Cricket Council (ICC), with the India-Pakistan match planned as the final league game of the eight-team, 15-match tournament. The competition is set to take place from February 19 to March 9, with specific match dates yet to be finalized, reports Cricket Live Score.

The proposed venue for the India-Pakistan clash is Lahore, pending approval from the Government of India for the team to play in Pakistan. If this approval is not granted, the tournament may adopt a hybrid model, similar to last year’s Asia Cup, with the UAE as the venue for India’s matches. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly been instructed to proceed with its preparations as scheduled.

The PCB has selected Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi as venues for the 20-day tournament, with Lahore designated for India’s matches. Lahore will host seven matches, Rawalpindi five, and Karachi three.

The tournament is set to kick off in Karachi on February 19, with the two semifinals to be held in Karachi and Rawalpindi. The final, scheduled for March 9 in Lahore, will also feature all of India’s matches and the semifinal if they qualify.
