Paul Farbrace raises concerns on Jos Buttler for upcoming Sri Lanka test tour

As England tour of Srilanka for a 2-match test series, Jos Buttler may be the right option as a wicketkeeper-batsmen, said Paul Farbrace. England’s former assistant coach reveals his views on Jos that he has been an asset from the team. Paul admits that Jos agrees to take a better move of stepping out from the team in case if he fails to put up his play better.

Getting into the details of his past performances, Jos Buttler has made just one test century in his 41 tests (73 innings). And, since the start of the Ashes, he has made one half-century in 10 Tests and averaged 21.31. He hasn’t reached 30 in his most recent eight Test innings. Buttler does look set to start the Sri Lanka tour as England’s first-choice keeper. But Ben Foakes is on the cards now, as he was player of the series when England won in Sri Lanka in late 2018. So there lies a dilemma for the selectors in choosing the experienced Buttler and Foakes.
