Cricket Australia CEO reports higher chances on India tour of Australia

In view of COVID-19 pandemic, all the tournaments have been postponed indefinitely in Australia. But Cricket Australia chief executive Kevin Roberts is confident that the four-Test series will take place later this year.

The test series is expected to overcome the financial stress that Cricket Australia (CA) board is currently facing. In turn the board can draw AUD 300 million from broadcast rights. Many boards including CA had cut costs due to the pandemic.

India tour of Australia series will take place between November 2020 and January 2021. In the current situation this might not be a 100% guarantee, but has higher chances, said Roberts. And he prompts that bio-secure environment which is better when Cricket Australia has options to tour away from home ground.

There might be a test series in England, and Australia would be touring to the UK. This would happen after Pakistan and the West Indies tour to England keeping the health measures intact. So CA plans accordingly with the strategies of healthcare in the Tri-series.
