Cummins calls for an alternate option to replace saliva

Australia’s fast bowler Pat Cummins has conveyed his want for another option to shine the ball as ICC has decided to ban usage of saliva to shine the ball in oredr to control the transmission of coronavirus through saliva. Cummins has requested ICC to come up with an artificial option to shine the ball.

Pat Cummins stated that “If we remove saliva, we have to have another option, Sweat’s not bad, but I think we need something more than that, ideally. Whatever that is, wax or I don’t know what. If that’s what that science is telling us, that it’s high risk using saliva … as long as we’re keeping other options open, whether that’s sweat or something artificial.”
