PCB sent out an invitation to England for visiting their country to play a T20 International series comprising 3 matches. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, the schedule of T20’s is proposed to happen in January 2021, if the England Cricket Board reveals its positive decision.
PCB CEO Wasim Khan has officially revealed the details about the future series taking place in their country, to a Pakistani channel. England last played during the 2005-06 season for a Test and one-day series in Pakistan.
Wasim Khan made a statement that Pakistan had no chance to travel to England during this summer for a Test series, due to the COVID-19 threat. He further added that 10 players were tested positive prior to leaving for the tour.
Cricket South Africa was already invited by Pakistan to play two Tests and a three-T20 series in January-February next year. Zimbabwe would be touring to Pakistan in November for a white-ball series in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
It was way back in 2009 when the Sri Lankan team bus was attacked by terrorists in Lahore, and there were no test teams that visited Pakistan later. However, it was Sri Lanka and Bangladesh that have played Test matches and white-ball cricket during the last two years in the country.
