Former England white-ball captain and World Cup champion Eoin Morgan have declared his retirement from all forms of cricket. Morgan opted to quit various forms of cricket after declaring his retirement from international cricket last year. Morgan’s final match was a competitive one in January for Paarl Royals in the SA20 League, which had just been created. He will now pursue a broadcasting career in cricket.
Cricket Live Score reports that the decision to leave the game that has given me so much over the years was made after careful consideration, Morgan wrote on his official Twitter account.
In a record 126 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 72 Twenty-20 Internationals (T20s), Morgan led England as captain in 2019. His 118 victories in both forms while serving as captain also set a record. He retires with several records, including the most runs for England in ODI (6,957), T20I (2,458), and sixes in both formats. Before being called up by England in 2009, Morgan, who made his ODI debut with Ireland as a 16-year-old in 2006, played 248 ODIs and 115 T20Is, amassing 10,159 runs.
