The free hit is a delivery that is introduced in the Twenty20 format of cricket, And it is recently introduced in One-Day format also. Firstly, a free hit is a delivery that is gifted to a batsman which can be played without concerning the fielders, which means there is no way to get out in a free hit delivery except run-out. A free hit will be given by umpire when a bowler concedes a no-ball it can be any kind of no-ball(foot or waist).
So if a bowler concedes a wide ball in a free hit delivery then the umpire will declare the next ball as free hit again because the wide ball is in an invalid ball which will be considered as extra. And if the next ball is also a no-ball then again the free hit continues to the next delivery, it continues till the bowlers bowl a legal delivery.
This free hit concept is liked by most of the cricket followers as it excites the crowd & batsman, this free hit will give the batsman complete freedom to hit the ball without concern for fielders.
