ICC ODI World Cup qualifiers begin on June 18

Ten countries will compete in the Qualifiers, starting in Zimbabwe on June 18 and going until 2023, for the final two berths in the ICC ODI World Cup. The dominant teams in the competition include the West Indies, Sri Lanka, and the hosts, along with Nepal, Ireland, Scotland, Oman, the United Arab Emirates. the United States of America and the Netherlands. The competition will take place at the Takashinga Cricket Club, Queens Sports Club, and Harare Sports Club.

The teams were divided into two groups of five each, with the top three teams moving on to the Super Six stage. The teams that have advanced will carry over points into that round if they have won over any of their fellow qualified clubs. In the Super Six stage, the top two teams advance to the championship game and earn a spot in the 2023 World Cup, reports Cricket Live Score.

This time around, the Qualifiers will attract a lot more attention thanks to the participation of four full member countries. Hosts Zimbabwe will have strong local support, but the participation of past World Cup champions Sri Lanka and the West Indies—as well as Ireland, who is not to be underestimated—will increase the excitement around this competition. Everyone involved with the competition is understandably giddy with excitement.
