The first international match to implement this new regulation will be the ICC World Tennis Championship final between India and Australia at The Oval. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has implemented the hotly contested and long-awaited rule amendment that forbids the use of soft signals during international match play (PCs). The change is set to take effect next month during the World Test Championship (WTC) final in London.
There has been discussion surrounding the soft signal rule, with many cricket experts calling for its repeal. The initial decision made by the umpire at the bowler’s end that is visibly communicated to the third umpire prior to the start of the umpire review is referred to as a “soft signal” under ICC rules.
According to Cricket Live Score, the ICC’s cricket committee has approved the change, which Sourav Ganguly leads. India and Australia, the other two finalists in the WTC summit match, have been informed of the decision. The PCs for the game at The Oval on June 7–12 will include the new rule. Additionally, the game will have a reserve, and floodlights can be used if there is insufficient natural light during the game.
