The Covid-19 pandemic has been leaving a lot of situations away from control. The unexpected crisis that’s creating the panic round the world hit the cricket leagues to a questionable position. In such a situation, England’s Test captain Joe Root and the team had to leave the Test series in Sri Lanka without starting a game. In case the series was in place, England would have been completing the second and last test this week.
However, the focus now lies on the health of players and families until everything sets back to normal. Talking about the severity of the national safety, Root said that his family along with himself are safe at the moment. Root said he’s helping his grandparents set up apps on their phones to keep in touch with them. Root added that he’s taking all the measures to avoid close contacts with anyone and this was said to the journalists on a Zoom conference call.
