The eleven-probable doesn’t comprise the names of Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes from England’s Test tour to Sri Lanka. The test series taking place next month will be happening just before the February tour of India.
Including Archer and Stokes, Rory Burns does miss the trip. The reason for Burns missing out is his wife Victoria expected to deliver their first child in the second week of January. Ollie Pope, who played for Surrey with Burns, will join the squad as a non-playing member.
The upcoming 12 months is fully packed with Cricket ON for England. England’s national selector, Ed Smith indicated that Stokes, Archer and Burns would fly directly to India on or around January 22-23.
The first Test match in the February series against India will be starting on February 5, at Chennai.
