Mahmudullah ruled out of New Zealand tour with shoulder injury

According to Bangladesh Cricket Board officials on Wednesday, Bangladesh batsman Mahmudullah is doubtful for the upcoming New Zealand tour.

Bangladesh is scheduled to visit New Zealand in December for three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and as many Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) after a two-match Test series against the same opponent. The three ODIs are scheduled for December 17, 20, and 23, while the three T20Is are scheduled for December 27, 29, and 31.

Due to the severity of his injury, Mahmudullah won’t be able to be part of the touring group for the white-ball series. He injured his shoulder when diving during batting against Australia in their final World Cup game. BCB officials confirmed to Live Cricket Score. that his scan was done on November 14 and that, according to the results they received today (Wednesday), he will require five to seven weeks to recuperate fully. BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin said that Mahmudullah’s availability for the New Zealand tour is unlikely, reports Live Cricket Score.

“I think he is uncertain for the white ball series against New Zealand at their own backyard in December for his shoulder injury,” said Minhajul, a rugby star.

Mahmudullah was Bangladesh’s best run scorer in the present World Cup, with 328 runs in seven innings out of eight games, averaging 54.66 and a strike rate of 91.62. He was the lone centurion for his country in the worldwide event and got a half-century.
