Corona impact: No handshakes for England players while on tour in Sri Lanka

England players and staff are so keen while addressing the issue of virus that’s making fuss round the world. We appreciate the fans to maintain good hygiene levels while interacting with players and maintain certain distance to prevent the spread of corona, team said.

One of the recent moves that ECB (England Cricket Board) has suggested to its team members is to have a fist bump instead of handshakes to reduce the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus. The ECB is expecting a large number of supporters to travel from the UK to Sri Lanka for the two-Test series starting in Galle on March 19. Also, the board added fans to follow public health guidelines to avoid the risk of infection and spreading the virus. The measures include washing hands with soap and water often and for at least 20 seconds, using hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available. The tissue used while coughing and sneezing should be thrown in the bin immediately before washing hands, said ECB.

The same advice of No Handshakes will also be followed by South African team members in the on-going ODI series against India.
