Najmul Hossain Shanto to lead Bangladesh in the 3rd ODI

Najmul Hossain Shanto will become Bangladesh’s 16th ODI captain after the Bangladesh Cricket Board named him to lead the team against New Zealand in the series finale on September 26 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

Although the first ODI was postponed due to weather, the New Zealand squad won the second match against the host by an 86-run margin to take a 1-0 series lead. Tamim Iqbal and Liton Kumar Das, Bangladesh’s opening pair against New Zealand, will rest for the third ODI, according to a previous report from Live Cricket Score. Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam are all back in the Bangladeshi team after missing the first two games due to a break.

Bangladesh’s experiment with the team concludes with the game before the ICC World Cup, and Mahmudullah is sure to be dropped from the 15-member World Cup squad following his career-saving 49 runs in the second game against New Zealand. After trying different cricketers in lieu of Mahmudullah after he was rested from ODIs following the home series against England, team management wanted to see what he had to give, and he took advantage of the opportunity.
