Team India Sweat it Out in the Nets Ahead of T20 World Cup

In the heart of New York’s Nassau County area, the Indian cricket team embraced their first formal practice session since touching down in the city on May 26. Preceding this, the squad engaged in a brief running and conditioning stint on Tuesday evening. With the exception of Virat Kohli, who is slated for a delayed arrival, all players convened for the session on Wednesday afternoon, reports Cricket Live Score.

The practice unfolded at Cantiague Park, situated a little over five miles away from Nassau County Stadium, where the team is slated to contest three matches in the Twenty20 World Cup, along with a warm-up clash against Bangladesh on June 1. As the designated training venue endorsed by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Cantiague Park boasts six drop-in practice pitches.

Amidst the sprawling expanse, the Indian team had access to three pitches, with two allocated for the batters and the third reserved for the bowlers. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill spearheaded the batting nets, with subsequent turns taken by the remaining players in their order of batting.

Noteworthy names like Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Rishabh Pant, and Ravindra Jadeja were among the participants in the batting drills. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, and Yuzvendra Chahal were advised to ease into proceedings, having recently joined the team after a lengthy flight. Despite this, all four players were present at Cantiague Park, gearing up for the next net session scheduled for Friday.
