Term extension for Sangakkara as MCC President

Former Srilankan captain Kumar Sangakkara has created history by becoming MCC’s first-ever non-British President. Committee of MCC has confirmed their decision to extend Kumar Sangakkara’s ongoing term which is to be ended on 30th September 2020.

Sangakkara has long relation with MCC, their relation began from Sangakkara delivering a poignant speech in 2011 at the Cowdrey Lecture. Later on the club has honoured the Srilankan legend with a lifetime membership and also Sangakkara joined the MCC’s World Cricket Committee eventually.
